Testimonials:

"Before Lifecheck I would wake up multiple times a night and often stay awake for hours.

Of course I would fall asleep a few minutes before my alarm went off. I always thought it was just stress-related and never did anything about it - except suffer.

Through Lifecheck Health and Dr Guy Meadows, I was able to assess the causes of my sleep issues and really understand on a practical level the vital links between my diet, my stress and my sleep.

This programme literally changed my life in a profound way and I can't recommend it enough to those that are sleep-deprived. Lifecheck Health is all about regaining control and sets you up to have a more contented life"

"I have recently finished a 6 week sleep programme with LifecheckHealth and I have seen an enormous change in my sleep patterns. I still have a long way to go to correct many years of interrupted sleep, however I have gone from waking up multiple times during the night and not being able to go back to sleep, to waking up only once or twice.

The programme analyses all aspects of your life from your diet and the amount of exercise you do, to sleep hygiene and everyday stresses. It then provides you with the tools to deal with your sleep problems. What I found most reassuring was how 'normal' my problems were!

In the past I would lie awake at night, clock watching which only made things worse. Now I have learnt to understand what effects my sleep patterns the most, and how to deal with it in a rational way.

Guy Meadows was extremely knowledgable and thorough, and was able to provide very practical advice. I will definitely be recommending him to fellow sufferers!"

Claire Cheek (London)

"I originally made contact with Dr Meadows (Guy) via a telephone call which lasted for over 1-hour and was the result of an article I had read in the London Lite news paper. During this initial conversation I explained how my sleep problem had arisen and how it was affecting me.

At that time and without and medication I was only getting about 1.5 hours sleep per night and with using the medication Night Nurse getting 4 – 6 hours very disturbed sleep. This had been going on for 2 years and was having a detrimental affect on my life and I was not able to work.

Having listened to my circumstances in full and Guy advised that the programme would help. I went along for a full consultation, during which we went through everything together and was given food, sleep and exercise diaries to complete.

I then saw Guy on a weekly basis for 6 weeks. As a result after 2-weeks of monitoring and support, having been told to come off medication/sleeping tablets, I was then given a tailored programme of when I could go to sleep and get up. Originally the programme was to go to bed at 12am and get up at 5am everyday. If I woke up in the night and awake for more than 20 minutes I had to get out of bed and do something boring until I got tired again.

Initially I was waking up several times per night but as the days went by I woke less and for shorter period of time. In subsequent weeks I had to fill in thoughts diaries to enable me to deal with stressful situations for evaluation which resulted in Guy advising me how I should have handled each situation.

Generally as weeks went by my sleep allowance was increased and after six weeks I was going to bed at 11.00pm and getting up at 6am. I was sleeping the whole night with no ‘wake ups’. At weekends I am now allowed a lie in until 8am.

Impact of programme: Before seeing Guy Meadows I was continually exhausted and the more bad nights sleep I had the more negative thoughts I had. I feared that I would have this condition for the rest of my life and I would never hold down a job & a relationship.

Now I don’t think like that anymore and if I do have a bad night I put it down as a ‘one off’ because I know that the problem is cured. That is the really important part and if I do get any lapses I know it is not forever and I can manage. Originally I was very sceptical that this would work and wondered if I was handing over cash for no results but this programme has been the solution and has been achieved with full support provided by follow-up emails and ‘support’ telephone conversations. It has made a remarkable difference to the quality of my life."

Alex Donnelly (London)

"I had a 1.5 hour telephone consulation with Guy, during which he answered questions which were specific to my sleep problem, and which my local GP was unable to answer. Your GP will only refer you to a sleep-specialist if you have a really serious disorder like sleep apnoea, which is not much use if you have one of the many other sleep disorders. I had also borrowed about 5 books on sleep from the library, which gave general advice, but nothing specific enough to my particular problem. The price was good considering the high level of expertise, and Guy provided answers to other questions I had in the following weeks, at no extra charge. My sleep quality has improved significantly following my chat with Guy and his follow-up plan"
